Making Breaks in the Post

Does anyone know how to make jumps in the posts on the blog? I feel bad about writing so much and monopolizing the space, but my attempts to insert text breaks are ineffective.

    when you write a post/comment, if you're in the html editor, type
    to insert a line break.

    i guess it works in the regular editor too. what you ACTUALLY need to type is < br > without the spaces in the braces
